Frostbite races 5 and 6

Having Skipped last week your Commodore Jeremy Cooper is back and in fine fettle, taking both Sunday races in the Frostbite Series and sneaking the overall series lead, although equal on points with Mark Nield. However it was only by a fine margin of a few seconds in both races, on corrected time, from Kieran back in his Aero 7 after his Miracle debut the week before. The lighter conditions also meant that our podium specialist in the early races, Steve Pooley, dropped out of the top three for the first time in the series.
Even though the wind was light, with one helm resorting to vaping to try to work out where the wind was actually heading, there was still one crew that managed to go for a swim. No photographic evidence was presented so Paul and Gordon can make up their own version of events over the post-race coffee and cake!
Our photo of the day was snapped by Assistant Race Officer Jon Davies. Jon was very enthusiastic and couldnt resist setting off the hooter after lap 1, catching Race Officer Gaz off-guard… Gaz commented: Gave me a heart attack when Jon blew that hooter, before returning to his classic race officer pointing pose.
The Frostbite Series continues to be a popular race series, with 26 boats on the water. It was also great to see Les back out competing following his enforced shore time recently.
