Frostbite week 2
Published 20:55 on 12 Nov 2025
Sunday 9th November, and races 3 and 4 of the Frostbite Series took place at Shotwick Lake Sailing. Under conditions that fully met the description of that wonderful Scottish word, dreich! But that did not stop a fleet of 24 boats battling it out in the very variable conditions. This is mixed fleet handicap racing, and although the RS100 of Andy Todd whizzed around at the head of the fleet, the PY of 1001 meant that he had stiff competition from many of the boats in his wake.
Special mention to Steve Pooley who has sailed his K1 onto the podium in all four Frostbite races, and to Paul Edge in the Hansa 303 who won race 4. Also creeping up the field are Kieran and Vicki Lewis in their newly acquired Miracle - neck and neck with Matt Bennet and Julie Dolman, swapping final positions in the two races.
The Frostbite series is shaping up to be a competitive series, and it is not too late to join in and avoid the Sunday sales rush on the run up to Christmas! 37 different craft have competed in the series so far.
