Autumn Series are underway

Sunday saw a great start to the Autumn series at Shotwick Lake Sailing. We were blessed with a good wind, which allowed the race officers to use the whole lake! And just for amusement they threw in some fun gybes to keep the safety boat team on their toes.

Considering the lively weather there was a good turnout of 20 boats that included five double-handers, with Ian and Conrad battling it out at the front of the fleet.

The afternoon weather continued to be lively with Conrad taking the win, Phil coming in 2nd and the Solo of Les coming in 3rd. Nothing unusual you might think there, but It would seem Les managed this while drinking a cuppa on the shore! Not so many boats out for the afternoon race though, with just seven boats making if to the start line. And for the eagle-eyed amongst you Les left his Solo in the capable hands of Mark Nield while topping up his caffeine levels. So a 3rd place for Mark!
