Points Mean Prizes!
Published 14:46 on 23 Jun 2026
Well actually, for the non-racers reading this, the lower your points total and the better you are doing!!! So the aim for all those attending the prize presentations last Sunday was to have the lowest score overall, winning one of the coveted club trophies. Sailing secretary Simon Dolman was there to record the event.
The Season 1 Prize Presentation took place today at lunchtime between club races. We were delighted to welcome back our much valued founder member and former Commodore, Tony Forster, who kindly agreed to present the trophies. The prize presentation and social lunch were held in a fantastic atmosphere, with members enjoying excellent weather, company, good humoured banter and a memorable day at the club.
Thank You to Our Volunteers
While the racing often takes centre stage, none of it would be possible without the dedicated volunteers who give up their time week after week to make racing happen. A huge thank you goes to everyone who has undertaken race duties, operated safety boats, assisted with race management, recorded results, set courses, and supported the club behind the scenes throughout the season. Whether scheduled well in advance or stepping in at short notice, your willingness to help ensures that all members can enjoy safe, fair, and competitive racing.
Special Thanks to Tony Forster
We extend our sincere thanks to Tony Forster for joining us to present the four trophies. Tony spoke about the George Forster Memorial Plaque, which he donated to the club in memory of his beloved father George, he expressed his delight that it has been reassigned to the Windward Twilight Series for which he has many fond memories.

One Up Cup Outstanding Performance Award
The One Up Cup is awarded by the Race Sub-Committee to the sailor who has demonstrated exceptional performance and is held until the next recipient is selected. The award could have gone to several sailors who delivered outstanding performances throughout the series, however, the Race Sub-Committee agreed to award to Sylvia Cornmell following an outstanding series.
Congratulations to all prize winners and thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to another successful and enjoyable season of racing.
See you all on the water - next week
