Windsurfing @ Shotwick

Windsurfing, SUPing or winging at Shotwick.

Following my earlier article introducing myself as windsurf secretary, we now have a twelve strong WhatsApp network to co-ordinate buddying up at the club and share any thoughts about windsurfing, SUPing and winging. If you want to join the group please just request via windsurfing@shotwicksailing.org and I’ll make sure you are added.

We also have an opportunity to create some windsurf board berths on an old trailer.  If you are interested in working with me to make this happen again, please get in touch to share your thoughts and ideas.

Try a workparty, you may find it as enjoyable as I have.

If you have not been to a workparty I’d encourage you to give it a go. My family circumstances recently changed and I managed to make a workparty earlier in the year. I wasn’t sure what to expect and I didn’t know too many folk but a couple of hours after arrival I had met several club members, had a good natter and the satisfaction of standing back to view 30 or more new berth numbers. At my second workparty I worked with different members and had a good workout cutting back bushes (highly satisfying). For those who are feeling a bit uncertain about how to contribute to the club I would recommend a workparty, it’s sociable, satisfying, good exercise and jobs can be tailored to individual needs.  I hope to meet you at one soon.
