Early arrivals to Shotwick Lake on Sunday (22nd March) were met with a tranquil mill pond. However the wind picked up a little but not enough to avoid being a challenge on the start line, with a bit of gentle nudging and bumping going on (see videos on Facebook!). 

It was a welcome return of racer Gwyn Jones to Shotwick. Back after an enforced year out, Gwyn marked his return with a first and a third position! Leaving other racers in no doubt he was back… OOD Conrad Black commented: The fleet was an extremely happy and friendly one, in spite of the lack of wind! With the light wind exploiting every direction for race 2 I decided the only answer was to set a figure of 8 course, which the racers seemed to agree with…

So far 35 different boats have taken part in at least one day of the Early Spring Series.
