Yes! We can announce that the iconic Shotwick Social Friday evenings will start on May 15th…

This is the opportunity to get out on the lake, on whatever craft, sail/board/kayak, you wish in good company and with a safety boat in attendance. Nervous about getting on the water then this is the perfect time to get down to the lake and get your boat moving. Not sure how to rig your boat, or unsure how to do anything watersports related, then you are almost guaranteed to find someone there who would love to help.

Not confident about launching or sailing then usually some of the club boats are on the water and if you are lucky Commodore Jeremy or one of his trusty team of experts will be happy to give you a run up and down the lake to get your bearings.

As the weather gets warmer the BBQ may get fired up too. 

The club is very keen to get the social side of 2026 moving. This takes many volunteers and of course volunteering is a great way to meet like-minded members.

Alternatively just chat to a committee member - they love new volunteers! A list of the 2026 committee, complete with photos can be found in the clubhouse.

Safety boat cover. Following the many training courses this year we now have a pool of 35 safety boat helms. The social Friday sailing is a great chance for newly trained helms to gain some on-water experience. Go to the social sailing WhatsApp group to register your interest and availability.
