Leeward Twilight Series - the winner!

So Wednesday (3rd September) was the final race in the Wednesday evening Leeward Series. With 11 races completed the racers experienced every type of weather, apart from snow! The racing was close and only 0.3 points separated first and second place. 

In fact it came down to the final race this Wednesday where the overall winners sneaked into second place, only 3 seconds in front of the third placed helm…

So the results for this Wednesday were:

Leeward Twilight Series Race 11: 1. Mark NIeld (Laser), 2. Simon and Julie Dolman (Miracle), 3. Jeremy Cooper (Lightning)

So those 3 seconds saw Simon and Julie taking home 2 points to Jeremys 3 points. Overall this meant that the Leeward Twilight Series winners for 2025 are Simon and Julie Dolman, who finished overall in first place, just 0.3 points ahead of Jeremy.

Congratulations Simon and Julie - if the Commodore had a reserved parking place I am sure you could use it next weekend!

Leeward Twilight Series final results (11 races):

1. Simon and Julie Dolman (Miracle) 11 points, Jeremy Cooper (Lightning) 11.3 points, 3. Jim Young (Laser Radial) 20 points.

Congratulations to everyone that took part in the series, and in particular to the race officers and safety boat helm/crews who supported the series. It has sometimes been a challenge to resource race officer cover and on several occasions racers had to step into the roles instead of competing. Many thanks to you all and I guess that marks the move into the Autumn, which certainly does not mean a stop to racing!
