Frostbite 25 is go!
Published 21:01 on 5 Nov 2025
The results from last Sundays first Frostbite races contained some new names, as 7 sailors from Bala have decided to pop over to Shotwick for the series. Conditions were superb if a little lively, although a couple of members commented on how cold the water was after they went swimming! Club Secretary Vicki Hall commented: By heck, that water was cold!
With 25 boats on the water the racing was challenging and competitive, a great start to the Frostbite Series. The podium places were almost completely taken by club regulars but Steve Pooley scored for Bala by placing 3rd in both races, in his interesting singlehander the K1. This consistency meant that after two races he is in second place behind Mark Nield.
Please note this coming Sunday the Frostbite Series briefing will be at 10:30, followed by a 2 minutes silence at 11:00.
Frostbite Series race 1:
1. Jeremy Cooper (Lightning), 2. Mark Nield (Laser), 3. Steve Pooley (K1)
Frostbite Series race 2:
1. Mark Nield (Laser), 2. Chris Draper (Topper), 3. Steve Pooley (K1)
Frostbite Series Overall (after 2 races):
1. Mark Nield (Laser) 3pts, 2. Steve Pooley (K1) 6pts, 3. Jeremy Cooper (Lightning) 7pts
Full results can be found on the club website.
