Fandabydosey!

Sunday 8th February. Races 3 and 4 of the Open Brass Monkey Series brought some very close racing, across the fleet of 20 dinghies, on a perfect day for sailing. Our visiting helms are certainly getting in some useful practice before returning to their own clubs later in the season, with Andy Todd really enjoying the long reach down to mark 3 in his R/S 100 in both races. Andy took both races by very fine margins and was only 2 seconds ahead of Steve Pooley in race 3 and 18 seconds ahead of Simon Dolman in race 4 (corrected time).

Competitive racing saw some racers over the line early at the start, leaving them an uphill struggle to get back to the front. Racing secretary Simon Dolman commented: what a great sailing day. 20 boats out for a Brass Monkey - fantastic weather and perfect conditions - fandabydosey!

As some of Shotwicks regular racers return to the water after several OOD duties there may be changes to come on the leader board… watch this space!
