The Boy Done Good! Kieran Sails The Aero Nationals

The Aero nationals took place in Tenby at the end of August. 54 Aeros took part split into two separate fleets. Due to the strong winds forecast, the majority chose the five metre sail leaving 23 in the seven fleet. The first three days favoured the heavier, experienced sea sailors. Kieran’s results for these days came in mid fleet. Towards the end of the 12 races when winds moderated, Kieran achieved a 2nd place on the last day. Due to there were only two discards, his final position was 17th. The 5s was won by Tom Anlheid of Frensham Pond SC. 2nd was Andrew Frost Sutton Bingham SC and 3rd Mark Ripley Paignton SC.

Kieran has been representing the club for many years – here Kieran is pictured in 2016 receiving a trophy from Olympic 470 class sailor, and former Shotwick Lake member, Chris Grube.

Well done Kieran and good luck and best wishes in all of your future sailing endeavors ‘in boats big and small’ from all at Shotwick Sailing Club!
