Renew ’22

For those of you who weren’t able to attend this years AGM, first a quick introduction.

My name is John Purdie, for those of you who aren’t familiar with me, I have sailed at Shotwick since about 2009 when I moved over from Chester and, more recently, can be found sailing either in a Solo (5064)  or a Miracle (3330) with my 6 year old son.

For 2022 I am taking over the reigns as Membership Secretary from the very capable Mark Heaton who deserves a rest after 6 long years. I am also taking over the role of Berthing Officer from the equally capable Jayne Rowland and combining the two.

As today is St David’s Day and the 1st March, membership is now due for 2022 and should be paid by 1st May promptly, I think in past years most members have renewed before the end of March. This certainly helps in the organisation and I would like to convey a big THANKYOU to those that have already submitted their renewals. It is genuinely greatly appreciated.

Membership forms can be found on the Club website CLICK HERE

If there are any queries please don’t hesitate to contact me by either replying to this email, or dropping me a message or phone call to 07719478208

In the case that you are not planning to join in 2022 then please let me know as soon as you can.

Boat Berths, Anyone requiring a new berth for this year can you inform me (membership@shotwicksailing.org) and I will do my best to fit you in. I ask that boats aren’t just left in the closest empty berth without allocation, there are currently allot of boats that are still in winter storage and are not at the lake but have a berth allocated to them. We have temporary berths that can be used on the lake side and I will endeavour to find you a more suitable home as soon as possible.

Myself and the Vice Commodore, Jeremy will be doing a walk of the lake on the 1st May and taking note of berths that are occupied where membership has not been paid.

I am looking forward to another great years sailing at Shotwick and hope to see you all down at the lake very soon.

John Purdie
