Keep Sailing Safe |
Sailing is a safe sport but we do need to be aware of potential
dangers and think about how they can be mitigated. Two recent
issues have been raised:
The risks associated with a dinghy inverting: This has been
highlighted by three fatalities in recent years. The link
reminds us of the things we need to consider. Read about the
lessons learnt from the
Keilder Incident.
Weils Disease. A water borne bacterium which causes flu like
symptoms, although the number of cases is small (not all due to
sailing!) there have been three fatalities since 1996.
This link gives more details.
