Croeso and welcome to Shotwick Lake Sailing

Shotwick Lake is situated on the Welsh, English border on the edge of the Dee estuary. We have members from North Wales, The Wirral, Chester and North West England. 

A family club we pride ourselves on our community and are an affiliated RYA Training Centre running sailing and windsurfing courses for both juniors and adults alike.

New Weds Series

On Wednesday 25th June a new series kicked off - the Leeward Twilight Series. With almost perfect weather conditions for a lively sail 9 boats took to the water (with another 4 sets of crews acting as the race management team! Sunday racing, wind and more wind

Sunday saw the start of two new series. Shan Stapely was there to capture the day. Two names were missing from the fleet - as Simon and Julie Dolman had travelled South with their Miracle dinghy to compete and win the Southern Area Miracle Championships. Final Twilight

Its all change as the last of the Twilight Series races was held on Wednesday (18th June). Hic Sunt Dracones

Last Saturday the Dragon Series came to Shotwick. Your own special correspondent Claire was there to tell the story. Series final results

Sunday saw the conclusion of both the Spring Series and the Spring Handicap Series. The day started as a wonderful sunny day, with 18 racers taking to the water. As the day progressed the weather became capricious and very blustery which soon turned the day into madness, according to Sara B, with Dave T coining the phrase Cirque de Simon, as Simon and Julie got caught in a mad squall while flying their spinnaker.
