Notice Of Race

1 RULES
The regatta will be governed by the ‘rules’ as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing.
Competitors should note that Shotwick Lake Sailing Club has implemented the RYA Racing Charter and that, when entering, competitors will be required to undertake to sail in compliance with the Charter which can be found at the front of the RYA rule book (Racing Rules of Sailing 2005-2006).

2 ADVERTISING
Advertising will be restricted to Category A.

3 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
3.1 The regatta is open to all dinghies.
3.2 Eligible boats may enter by completing an entry form on the first day of entry to the regatta

4 FEES
Required fees for open meetings and club regattas are as follows: Adults £5-00 Juniors £2-50

5 SCHEDULE
Racing is scheduled as follows:

Sunday Club Racing:
First Race will start at 10:30am
Second race will be will be no earlier than 45 minutes after the last boat finishes the first race

Wednesday Club Racing:

First race will start at 7:00pm
Second race will be sailed back to back with the first race.

Open meetings and club regattas:
First Race will start at 11:00am
Second race will be will be no earlier than 45 minutes after the last boat finishes the first race
The starts of any further races will be announced on the day.

Actual dates of events are published in the clubs programme of events.

6 MEASUREMENTS
Each boat shall produce a valid measurement certificate if requested.

7 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
The sailing instructions will be available at Corus Colors SC Clubhouse

8 THE COURSES
The courses to be sailed will be as detailed on the day as per the Sailing Instructions

9 SCORING
The Low Point scoring system of Appendix A will apply.

10 RADIO COMMUNICATION
A boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive radio communications not
available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile telephones.

11 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The
organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death
sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.

12 INSURANCE
Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of £2,000,000
