Croeso and welcome to Shotwick Lake Sailing

Shotwick Lake is situated on the Welsh, English border on the edge of the Dee estuary. We have members from North Wales, The Wirral, Chester and North West England. 

A family club we pride ourselves on our community and are an affiliated RYA Training Centre running sailing and windsurfing courses for both juniors and adults alike.

Sunday afternoon update

Following the completion of the Pursuit Series race, the decision was taken to implement a trial of a Personal Handicap system to encourage those new or returning to racing to compete with the regular racers in this Sunday afternoon series. Wet, wet, wet!

The Autumn series kicked off on Sunday (7th Sept) with two very wet races! Particular thanks to the race officers and safety boat crew - Chris, James, Andy and Karen. Supernova

One of the many travellers out of Shotwick recently was James Stark in his Supernova. James headed to Blithfield Sailing Club for the Craftinsure 2025 Supernova Inlands Championships fighting it out with over 70 other Supernova helms over a lively weekend. Eastport Pram

There was a lot happening at the club on Friday night. The first session of the RYA 1/2 course got underway. Work Party!

What a fantastic work party, commented Commodore Jeremy Cooper. King of the ride-on mower, the commodore also put in many hours this week, alongside a raft of club members. Work party supremo Les Perry also deployed his own specialist equipment to allow our very own electrical expert Ian D to work on the new WiFi system. Leeward Twilight Series - the winner!

So Wednesday (3rd September) was the final race in the Wednesday evening Leeward Series. With 11 races completed the racers experienced every type of weather, apart from snow!
